At this exhibition, we will also focus on showcasing the applications of near-infrared testers. Near-infrared testers have significant application value in plastic processing, especially in film coating. The principle is to utilize the absorption characteristics caused by the vibration and stretching of molecules in the near-infrared spectral region, analyzing the composition and content of samples by measuring the absorption degree of samples to different wavelengths of light. This non-destructive testing method can quickly and accurately obtain sample information, providing an effective means for quality control in the plastic processing process.

There are various methods for preparing films from polymer materials, including stretching, extrusion, solution spin coating, and solution casting. Among these, solution spin coating and solution casting are commonly used methods for film preparation. In these methods, polymer materials are dissolved in organic solvents or water to form a uniform solution or dispersion. The solution or dispersion is then coated onto the substrate surface, and through solvent evaporation, a continuous film structure of the polymer material is formed.

During the coating preparation process, polymer materials are usually coated onto the substrate surface in the form of a solution or dispersion, and then a uniform coating structure is formed through drying or curing processes. The thickness of the coating can be adjusted by parameters such as coating speed, solution concentration, and substrate surface treatment.

In the above applications, infrared testers can quickly test the content of CH-related components non-contact by testing the absorption energy of CH bonds.

Additionally, OH has a strong infrared absorption region, making moisture (and water-based coatings) a typical application of infrared testing.

Water-based coatings are environmentally friendly coatings, with water as the main component and a certain proportion of hydroxyl (OH) functional groups. During the preparation of water-based coatings, appropriate emulsification or dispersion techniques are used to disperse polymer materials in water, forming a stable dispersion system. After coating, moisture gradually evaporates, causing the coating to cure and form a hard coating structure.

For polymer material films and coatings, moisture content is an important quality indicator. Infrared spectroscopy is a commonly used and accurate method for moisture testing. Its principle is to detect moisture content by utilizing the characteristic of water molecules absorbing infrared radiation at specific infrared wavelengths. By placing the sample in an infrared spectrometer and measuring the intensity of the absorption peak of water molecules, the moisture content in the sample can be calculated using a standard curve or quantitative analysis method.
