Testing Principles:
The O-H bonds of water molecules absorb near-infrared radiation at several specific wavelengths. The three filters on the rotating filter disk inside the MCT moisture tester generate these absorption wavelengths and non-absorption wavelengths, which alternately reflect from the product surface to the internal optical components. The light signals converted into electronic pulses are calculated through a ratio algorithm to determine the proportional moisture content, which is then corrected for bias and span to become the direct moisture content. A specially designed filter reflection signal algorithm eliminates deviations caused by the aging of optical components and the different reflective characteristics of materials.
Features:
The testing is non-contact, continuous, and real-time; the output signal can be connected to an automated control system for automated closed-loop control of production.
Typical infrared absorption molecular bonds include:
O–H bonds of water and alcohol, C–H bonds of fats and hydrocarbons, N–H bonds of proteins, ammonia, and amines.
